Robin + Patric are the kind of friends every person prays for. These two have treated Justin and I to dinner on bad work days, driven me to the airport at 2am, despite both needing to work 10+ hour shifts just hours later, and have offered to help plan our wedding more times than I can count. We did this session as my thank you to them for the aforementioned airport drop off + it was better than I could’ve ever imagined!
We had originally planned for this session to be shot at the Russian River in Guernville, but after driving to the beach and seeing that they had started a construction project, put up all sorts of tents, and put a caution tape banner around one of the fences, and noticing that the boardwalk that used to be easily wheelchair accessible, no longer was, I decided it wasn’t going to serve the vision the three of us had originally had in mind.
I remembered seeing a roadside pullout about a mile back down the road that was covered in blooming snap pea blossoms, and I knew the mid-afternoon lighting would be gorgeous there! We packed back up into the car, and drove back to the pullout; the lighting was immaculate.
We only shot for about 20 minutes in total, but I ended up sending them one of the largest couple’s galleries I have ever sent out. It’s no surprise the gallery was so big though, if you have met these guys, you know they are about the most relaxed and easy going people you will ever meet. Robin has offered to help me plan literally every large event in my life that she has known me for, and is genuinely just the most thoughtful human being!
Patric is one of Justin’s favorite people, and they hit it off the first time Robin and I introduced the guys! We have since been on countless double dates, and Rob and I have had a few girl’s nights of our own as well. I am so lucky to call these two friends and I could not be happier to be able to have them at my wedding, and in our lives for all the big and exciting things yet to come for all four of us.
We wrapped up this sweet little session with a night out at our favorite restaurant (Brewsters in Petaluma, if you know you know), and despite the fact that Patric had an awful day at work before dinner and our session, he still kept Robin and I laughing the entire dinner (as always). We grabbed a few beers, burgers, and fries, and chatted about how good it will be when Justin and I move back to CA, and can make our double date nights a routine thing again. It’s crazy to think that this day was almost two months ago now, and were in the final 31 days in Colorado before moving home to Sonoma County.
